Kentucky Trip 2008

We spent a week in Madisonville, Kentucky visiting Nathan's family. The trip was planned around the wedding of Nathan's cousin Jon and his bride Melanie. We also spent a lot of time visiting and relaxing with family. As usual, we did not take as many pictures as we should have! But here are some highlights from what we have.

One afternoon Nathan's Aunt Ann organized a trip to Evansville, Indiana to tour a World War II ship. Nathan's grandfather J.D. was a welder and worked building this type of ship before he was drafted into service. These were carrier ships that transported light vehicles, such as Jeeps & amulances, on the top deck, and heavy vehicles like tanks below deck. The tour was really interesting and it was neat to see all the inner parts of the ship.
