State Fair 2007

We took the kids to the fair last night, Kelly met us there. They were very excited to do the pony rides first. Even Jack tried it, and enjoyed it for a while. They also watched the duck races and a circus-type show called "Pirates of the Air." Everyone really loved the petting zoo, Jack was not frightened at all and pet lots of animals. He especially liked the zebra! We didn't do any rides or games of chance. Unfortunately, AnneMarie said on the way home that we can't go back next year, because this was "the best time ever" and next year will be the worst. We took that to mean that this trip to the fair can never be topped!

More Fun Snacks

Here are a few more of AnneMarie's latest creations. The first are snails, with pickle bodies, chive antennae and ham & tortilla roll ups for the shells. The second are apple smiles, with mini marshmallows for the teeth and peanut butter holding them in place between the red apple lips.

Mouse Snack

AnneMarie made this snack of a mouse & its cheese this afternoon. She made one for herself and one for Jack, who didn't eat the cherry nose, licorice tail, or wedge of cheese (so AnneMarie ate his leftovers). It just so happened that she got a mouse letter in the mail today from Great Gram (what a surprise, since I was already planning to make this snack). AnneMarie had the bright idea to use the picture on the letter as "directions" for how to make the mouse. She also lined up the snacks & the letter for me to take the picture.

Lil' Kickers Soccer

Nathan & Kelly took the girls to soccer this morning (for some reason, AnneMarie did not want me to go!). They had a great time. They have two coaches and 12 kids. Each week they learn a new skill, this week it was dribbling. Julia was already a pro at this. AnneMarie had a great time, and unlike many other kids, never got scared or fussy. After soccer, Nathan got her a goal so she can practice in the backyard. After six weeks of practicing, they have a scrimmage on the last day.
