We just finished up two weeks of swimming lessons in the evening at Haynes Pool, an outdoor city pool near our new house. This was AnneMarie's first year as a "tadpole" which means she did not have a parent with her in the water. Jack is still in "parent-tot" class, we took turns swimming with him.
Here is Jack flirting with his teacher, Miss Lauren. He really did not want anything to do with her, the last day was the only time he voluntarily interacted with her. He would never let her take him around on a raft or any of the fun things she did with the other babies and toddlers.
Jack loved dunking himself under water. The pool is one of those that gradually gets deeper, so he can touch the bottom in quite a bit of it. He would just jump around and take his legs out from under himself so he would go under for a second.
AnneMarie "crab-walking."
AnneMarie really liked her teacher, Miss Kelsey. She listened carefully to everything she said and was a very good student.

AnneMarie went down the slide twice, her teacher caught her at the bottom. Jack refused to go down because he was only allowed to go with his teacher holding him, and he didn't particularly care for his teacher. This slide seemed tame compared to the ones she conquered on our camping trip in Ouray!

Kentucky Trip 2008
We spent a week in Madisonville, Kentucky visiting Nathan's family. The trip was planned around the wedding of Nathan's cousin Jon and his bride Melanie. We also spent a lot of time visiting and relaxing with family. As usual, we did not take as many pictures as we should have! But here are some highlights from what we have.
Jack & AnneMarie with Nathan's grandmother Frances, she is called Maw.

One afternoon Nathan's Aunt Ann organized a trip to Evansville, Indiana to tour a World War II ship. Nathan's grandfather J.D. was a welder and worked building this type of ship before he was drafted into service. These were carrier ships that transported light vehicles, such as Jeeps & amulances, on the top deck, and heavy vehicles like tanks below deck. The tour was really interesting and it was neat to see all the inner parts of the ship.
We stayed the week with Nathan's cousin Ronnah, her husband Tracy and their kids Taylor and Parker. They have a beautiful home on a pond. AnneMarie got to go boating and also fished off the dock one afternoon. Staying there was a real blessing, their family is so special and the setting was beautiful. These pictures were taken at their house.
