Sesame Street Live!

We went to see a Sesame Street Live show with some friends at Santa Ana Star Center on Friday night. AnneMarie was so excited! Jack didn't anticipate it as much, but he did have a great time from the moment we arrived. He was enthralled (at least for the first half). It went well past bedtime, so they were very tired on the way home and went straight to bed. AnneMarie said she dreamed about it and she wants to know when we can go back.

The show was a tiny bit too long for Jack, he spent a little time out of his seat toward the end.

One of the problems the "Fabulous Five" Sesame superheroes had to solve was Oscar the Grouch taking over Elmo's World. This really bothered Jack. He kept yelling "No, Ocar, no! No Ocar's world! Where Elmo?"

At the end there was a lot of confetti and streamers shooting out. AnneMarie wanted some but we were too far back. Overall they loved the show, and AnneMarie correctly repeated the 4 main points. Super Grover lost his "superness" and the way he could get it back (and the way we can all be super) was to take a nap or get some rest, eat healthy foods, take a bath or have good hygiene, and exercise. She really enjoyed it and has been repeating these ideas all day because she wants to be Super!

Birdsnests in the Backyard

We have a lot of birds and nests in our new backyard. This photo is from the nest in the planter box hanging from the fence. This was a dove's nest, she hatched one or two babies, but today no one was home and we saw this egg left behind.

This nest was in a tree near the backdoor. It was also doves. She had two babies but they already grew up and flew away.

These next two photos are a nest that is near the playset. I haven't seen it occupied since before we moved in. I don't remember what kind of bird was there but it was smaller than a dove. I never noticed these eggs before so either I just missed them earlier (this nest is quite a bit higher than the others), or a bird has returned to use this nest again.

Bunny on the front walk

When I stepped outside just after 8 p.m. this evening, this little guy was sniffing around the front walkway. He let me get within about 10 feet of him, before he bounded off around the house. We have seen many rabbits here, as well as lizards, Gambel's quail, robins, and doves, and other birds that I can't identify just yet, although I am trying to learn.

It's Official!

We have moved in! As of Memorial Day weekend, we are now living in our new house. We close on the sale of the old house on Tuesday morning. AnneMarie has had no trouble at all with the transition. Jack has woken up in the night a couple of times, but I am probably getting the least sleep of anyone. It is quite an adjustment, but we are loving it!

Playing at the "New House"

We spent quite a bit of time playing over at the new place before we actually moved in. The first thing we brought was lots of toys, so that the kids would play while we got some work done. They think the backyard is a park!

This is AnneMarie's "drum", an old log in the far back of the yard.

New Puppy!

Jeremy got a new puppy named Abby. As you can see here, everyone but Abby was having a bad hair day when she visited. The girls LOVE her, Jack is pretty unimpressed. She is tiny, and so soft!
