Cat Costume

AnneMarie made this "cat costume" on Saturday. She colored all the body parts on seperate pieces of paper. Then she informed me she was making a cat costume, not for Halloween, and could she have her kid's scissors? She then cut out each piece, except the eyes, which she asked me to do. Then she asked me to help her attach the pieces. We used elastic and staples. She wore the costume around for quite a while, it did need several minor repairs from time to time. I was impressed with her coming up with the idea and taking on such a big project.

Manmade nests

AnneMarie has been making her own nests in the backyard, based on the nests she's seen. They are made of sticks and lined with cotton from the cottonwood trees. In each she has placed a "dud" egg she found elsewhere in the yard.

This one, you can see, also has a momma bird that she made out of a rock, pipe cleaner, and wadded up toilet paper. :)

Here are some of our "snow drifts" caused by our two cottonwood trees.

Naptime!

AnneMarie set up her blankets, pillow and a few books on the concrete "benches" in the great room. Jack decided he would take his nap there. He read all the books and then stretched out, pulling the blankets on top of them. While I was taking these pictures, he kept telling me "Goodnight" and "Goodbye, Mom."
